Aemon reviews the receipt for the two enslaved persons in question, remarking on how they were just bought today. Man Mode Bea says she goes around buying and freeing slaves and keeps their collars as keepsakes. She also invites him to meet her at the central fountain in town after sundown for a "good time."

When she was living as a man at the academy, she used the name Haldamir, after her favorite brother, Hal for short. Which is also what her family called her when she was living as a woman, short for Halethra.

Panel 9
